It's Been a While......

Sorry!! I know it has been a while since my last post, but life got a little hectic for a while. I'm back and have a few new discoveries to share. Today's share is the Cricut Cake.

Have you seen this? The new cricut cake machine. It seems to be all the rage over on the cricut message boards right now...Here is some additional information:

The Cricut Cake™ Personal Electronic Cutter is specifically designed for decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and confections in no time at all. Just choose a shape, a size, and press "cut". Decorating like a professional has never been faster or easier. Bon Appetit!

You can also head on over to youtube and check out some awesome cakes made with the cricut....Warning: drooling may be involved.  Cakes made with the cricut!

Another cricut cake

I made this cute cake for my best friends little girls. They are twins. Can you tell? I used my cricut to create a border stencil and air brushed the sea horses around the cake. I also cut the palm trees from my cricut. I think this is one of  my favorite cakes so far. It was so fun to make.

Another cricut cake day.....

On this cake I used the cricut once again to create a stencil for air brushing. I air brushed the flowers on the corners of the cake and also alone the borders. In the center of each flower I just added a little yellow dot to dress it up. The flowers on the cake are not real (I pretty much stink at making flowers!). Airbrushing a stencil on a cake can add so much detail. If you don't have a cake airbrushing system, you can always use the cans of airbrush color they sell in the wilton cake department at most craft stores, it works just as good!

Cricut Cake

This week I am going to share with you a couple of cakes that I made using my cricut. On this one I used the die cut shapes to make the man in the boat and the fish. I also used the border feature to create a stencil to air brush the fish on the side.I used the lollipop sticks that come from the candy making department at Michaels and stuck the die cuts to them with a glue dot. (All die cuts and border were cut using the cricut) So easy and so cute
