This cold/strep has run its course through my house. My husband and son have finally recovered after having it for over two weeks. My daughter is sick now with major ear infection and sinus infection. I had shots last Monday and was back in the Dr.'s office this Tuesday, by Friday it had returned with a vengence. NOW....here I sit at 1:00am posting on my blog because the Z-Pac I am on has me wired to the gills. The nonstop coughing isn't helping. I decided the best move to make was to remove myself from the bed and head to the craft room. No need in keeping hubby up my my wiggling and coughing!! Sickness please go away and never return!!!!!!!!
On to crafty info. Right now I am stalking Amazon for Becky Higgins Project Life items to return to stock. I ordered a few page protectors last week but most were out of stock. I want to purchase some of the kits also, but waiting to place one big order. I am soooo very far behind on my scrapbooking. I understand that the premise behind PL is to take pictures daily and complete your weekly life in a scrapbook, and after a year have a full year of scrapbook goodness. My take will be somewhat different. I need to go back several and I do mean several years to catch up. I will use PL to help me accomplish this. I love the whole concept behind it and can see it working for me. I am thinking I will have 2 PL projects in the works at one time. The old and the new. This should help me stay current while working on the process of catching up. If you haven't seen the concept of Project Life you can check it out on her website as well as on YouTube and amazon. I know that it has been out for some time, but our life is just calming down to the point that I can craft again. (Can you say sleepless night scrapping!) Must not have mentioned that I already suffer insomnia.
Hope your all sleeping soundly at this hour and that you and your loved ones are well. Guess I should say that I live in the South. Our Winter has been so strange. Last year was amazingly cold and we had snow. This year it has been 30/40 and rainy followed by a week of high 60's. How are you suppose to stay well when you deal with that?

A wasted day.....well maybe not..
School was suppose to start back for me today, due to the threat of bad weather it was canceled. The kids are also out. My son is sitting in here with me on his iPod racing cars while I am updating my blog with my iPad. While I am thankful for an extra day to rest, I am ready to get back in school and get into a routine. If anyone out there is a mother who has returned to school, you know it is an adjustment for everyone. With each new semester comes a new schedule. This means getting everyone use to me coming in late (thank goodness this semester I only have one night class and the rest of the week I will be home when the kids are). Anyway, we had no bad weather. We waited alllllll day for snow that never came. A little ice on the trees, but that is melting away already. My daughter is taking advantage and sleeping in, and when she wakes we will have breakfast and just hang out the rest of the day.
Look for craft projects and videos soon. I have some things in the works. Enjoy you day....

Cricut Cake Mini
So, I received the Cricut Cake Mini for Christmas. What great timing? There are so many birthday's in my family in January. First off there is my AMAZING grandma's birthday this week. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful she is. I made her this cake yesterday. It is a modge podge of cricut cakeness. I was playing around with different cuts. Nevertheless, it turned out pretty cute. I added lots of purple icing around the bottom of the cake. Fondant is not the best tasting creation ever invented, so I added the extra icing to make the cake taste really good. My favorite part of a birthday cake is the icing.
As for a review of the cake mini, I LOVE IT!! It really works well. The cuts were nice and exact. I do think next time I will lower my pressure, but other than that I had no problems. You just roll out your fondant (quickly-this stuff really dries fast), crisco your mat, lay out your fondant on the mat, and cut away......I am really glad that I started out with the mini cake version. I don't see that I will need the bigger one. I got mine at the black Friday sale at Joann's. Well worth the money!

Give a child a glue-gun and popcicle sticks!
I'm so lucky, my children LOVE a craft store. No begging and pleading not to go, they actually ask to go! Makes this mama proud. So, the other day we made a trip to Joann's. My DD purchased T'shirts and iron on bling designs. My son chose a hot glue gun, a package of 100 glue sticks, and a box of 1,000 popcicle sticks. It always amazes me what he can create. After an hour or so in his room, this is what he bring out to share. (I didn't get a picture yet, but he also created a trailer for transporting his planes. It is complete with wheels!)

HaPpY EaStEr!!!!
Hope everyone had a great day. We have been completely lazy today. Spent some time w/ the many critters and just plain lounged around the house.
I love Easter. It is my favorite holiday of all!! I love the colors, chicks, bunnies, and the candy....My two favoirte candies are available during this time. The top on my list are the robin eggs...YUMMY!!!
I was going to do the baskets last night, but fell asleep. I jumped up early this morning while the house was still calm and quite and fixed them up. I also made cute little cards to go with each of them. The kids were super excited when they woke. I had told them they were getting to old for Easter. (that's never gonna happen!!) Just Noticed the card was up-side down in the picture..I don't think he noticed LOL
